5 DAYS TOUR WHILE IN ORTIGIA

DAY 1 - ortigia

-Check in at Ortigia

-A stroll around the typical narrow streets of the island.

-Watchword? GETTING LOST. Ther's no better way to explore the island.

-Visit to the Ortigia market and lunch at CASEIFICIO BORDERI or at FRATELLI BURGIO

-Visit to CASTELLO MANIACE and FONTE ARETUSA.

-enjoy a wonderful APERITIVO and the sea-view sunset from one of the bars in the MARINA area or LUNGOMARE ALFEO.

-DINNER? Ask us for the best advice!

-Take a Walk in Via Minerva and Piazza Duomo to see them illuminated and if you want, stop for an after dinner drik at Cortile Verga or at Barcollo.

day 2 - NOTO

-BREAKFAST IN ORTIGIA at Bar Viola or at Artale for an excellent cannolo, granita and brioche.

-Car, train or taxi to Noto. It takes about 25 minutes

-NOTO ANTICA, the best existing example of Baroque towns.

-Enjoy "u passiu", the slow-paced stroll along the main street of Noto, Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

-For LUNCH stop in the wonderful ASSINARO AGRITURISMO immersed in a lemon grove.

You can stop for a special aperitif at the Gagliardi Terrace to enjoy an unparalleled view of the historic center.

-DINNER? You could choose the Dammuso Restaurant or Solo gli Angeli (or go back to Ortigia).

DAY 3 - SAN LORENZO AND MARZAMEMI

-San Lorenzo is a fascinating beach of fine sand and turquoise waters. Its shores allow children to enjoy the sea without any danger.

6.30 PM MARZAMEMI. Walk along the streets of the ancient fishing village towards the central square. The atmosphere is truly magical at sunset! It is very close to San Lorenzo: about 3 km.

-APERITIF. Relax at Liccamuciula, sipping your drink and watching people having fun in the main square of Marzamemi.

-VISIT CAMPISI, A LOCAL PRODUCT DEALER. Campisi offers a wide range of local products to buy or just to taste. Try the Roman almond of Noto, the Pizzuta almond of Avola to find out which is the best. Don't forget to taste / buy Pachino's "Ciliegino" cherry tomatoes.

DAY 4 - SYRACUSE SEA&HISTORY

-Visit the NATURAL RESERVE OF PLEMMIRIO. A true paradise… Along 15 km of coastline, its waters show a wide variety of colors, from emerald green to turquoise blue, with a thousand shades. 

-Then visit the Paolo Orsi museum, the Greek theater, the orecchio di Dionisio and the Latomie dei Cappuccini.

- Getting tired? Stop to buy arancini from MIDOLO, a bottle of wine at the winery in Via Roma and relax at home.

- Don't miss an Evening walk in Piazza Duomo, admire the temple of Athena and get involved by the street artists who enliven the summer evenings with shows and music.

DAY 5 - PALAZZOLO, BUSCEMI AND BUCCHERI

- PALAZZOLO ACREIDE (UNESCO). Visit to the historic center and the Greek theater of Akrai, the remains of the city of the Greek age.

- Take a break at the “CORSINO” or at the “CAPRICE” pastry shops. 

-Stop at the restaurant "DA ANDREA, SAPORI MONTANI". You should try some dishes with the Palazzolo black truffle.

-BUSCEMI and BUCCHERI. Visit to the historical centers of these two villages. You can learn a lot about ancient rural life at the small museums of peasant civilization. 

-VISIT to the TERRALIVA farmhouse. Located 6 km from Buccheri, the Terraliva company biologically produces an intense and fruity oil. Taste their oil, recently awarded the "best oil"
